VR30DDTT - Coolant Temperature Target Controls
The VR30 uses a Multi-way Control Valve to control the flow of coolant to the components of the vehicle as required.
The valve can open and close the flow of water to radiator, heater, engine oil cooler and ATF warmer according to the coolant temperature as required.
A: Closes outlets and only circulates coolant inside the engine.
B: Opens heater outlet and circulates coolant to heater.
C: Opens heater, ATF and Oil cooler outlets and circulates coolant to heater, engine oil cooler & ATF warmer.
D: Opens the flow path to radiator and circulates coolant to heater, engine oil cooler / ATF warmer and radiator.
E: Opens all outlets
NOTE: Turbo Always has cooling flow and when MCV DTC occurs, the valve opens fully.
Map List
The maps included in temperature control are listed below, if they are not defined in your Cal ID please contact support@ecutek.com.
Coolant Temperature Targets
Setting the ECT target should be as simple as lowering the target value in the ECT Target (Normal Mode) map.
There are other values which may set the target coolant temperature. This is explanied in the diagram below.
Coolant MCV Control
The MCV valve angle control are set using target temperatures derived as above, then converted from the target temperature to an error amount for control using a choice of actual measured temperature according to the highest needs. After this is converts the target ratio to a target angle and does closed loop angle control as per the diagram below.
Over Pressure mode
Over pressure mode is a mode set for high load and high torque where a separate MCV position target is used.
