After purchasing live tuning you will need to update your copy of ProECU to get the live tuning add on built into your software just like you would do after buying any new software in the webstore.

Workflow

Live tuning adds the concept of a Ecutek RaceROM Patch Bundle, and in this case that bundle contains two patches that otherwise identical apart from the live tuning aspect in one of them. The workflow goes like this:

  • Start with a base ROM and add the .erpb file to it, and select the Live Tuning Variant.

  • Tune car, stopping to flash when you need to change 1d values not supported by live tuning, or you want to save a significant change to the ECU

  • Save your final ROM, then use the "change variant" button to select the normal RaceROM and then SAVE THE NEW ROM WITH A NORMAL PATCH

  • Program the final ROM you saved before handing back the car to the customer.

Limitations

  • You cannot alter axis values using live tuning

  • Only a limited number of 1d values are available for live tuning (because each 1d value needs to be hand added so it's not possible or economical to add them all).

  • There are two limits in place for live tuning, a 4kb data limit, and a maximum of 8 2d or 3d maps, in any mix, active for live tuning at any one time. There is no limit on the number of 1d values that can simultaneous be active. ProECU will prevent limits be exceeded and a warning will be shown.

  • Live tuning is supported only in off-road testing conditions such as dyno testing and driving on dedicated test area. While the Live Tuning patch is loaded in the ECU, the CEL/MIL will flash constantly.

  • Map tracing IS NOT live tuning. Some maps do not properly map trace due to limitations of data conversion and live data. These will be corrected in time, but just because a map is not tracing properly, doesn't mean that the values are not being used correctly.

ProECU

Load a ROM without RR patch, add the bundle (.erpb file) and ProECU will prompt you for the Normal or live tuning version:
