BRZg2/GR86 RaceROM Fuelling

BRZg2/GR86 RaceROM Fuelling

Introduction:

RaceROM fuelling changes allows different fuel maps to be used depending on MapSwitch Mode. It adds the option of an overall fuel multiplier per MapSwitch mode and for gen1 BRZ racerom an individual per cylinder fuel trim

Tuning Tips.

If you want to run a specific AFR then set this accordingly in the fuel maps, then tune the MAF and/or Speed density (when available) to achieve that AFR. With the ability to run in full time Closed loop control it becomes more important to set appropriate values in the target tables.

Tune the port injection ratio and direct injection angle maps to get the most from the fuel system, be it stock or modified with higher flowing port injectors.

Important Things to Keep In Mind

  • If you want to use full time closed loop fuelling, you will need to take additional steps.

Fuelling Maps

Fuel Map Mode (2,3,4)

The OEM version Fuel Map (Mode 1) is used in Mapswitch mode 1 while the racerom versions are used for modes 2-4. The RaceROM versions are higher resolution and when adding the RaceROM patch ProECU will automatically extend the load axis based on the existing map data, accounting for the slope of the final few columns.

These are the maps used when the ECU switches to Open loop mode, and in modes 2,3 & 4 there are no RaceROM versions for hi/lo det or vvt on/off.

Power AFR Fuel Map Mode (2,3,4)

The OEM version Power AFR Fuel Map is used in Mapswitch mode 1 while the racerom versions are used for modes 2-4. The RaceROM versions are higher resolution and when adding the RaceROM patch ProECU will automatically extend the load axis based on the existing map data, accounting for the slope of the final few columns.

These are the maps used when the throttle is over a threshold and the EGT is below a threshold to give short term leaner AFR for best power.

These are only present in some later BRZ g1 roms.

Fuel Multiplier

For correcting fuelling in different modes you can use this multipler. Useful for correcting for different fuel types such as race fuel blends.

Do not use this for pre-mix ethanol tuning, instead use the RaceROM flexfuel with manually set ethanol content per mapswitch mode.

Fuelling Strategy Override

On BRZg1 this allows full time closed loop control of the fuelling to be enabled. The OEM maps Fuel Map - Lean Closed Loop #1/#2 are used in light load conditions, depending on load thresholds and timers the main open loop maps are employed.

In order to use this you must set the minimum AFR in Closed Loop Min/Max Allowed AFR Target to cover your intended range, and scale the front O2 sensor to cover your working range.
