How To Use EcuTek RaceROM Launch Control

Availability of this feature depends on your vehicle application as well as having it activated within your tune.

Use of this feature can be hard on the drivetrain and should be done at the users risk.

Method of Operation

  1. Make sure the vehicle is up to temperature (coolant, engine oil, and transmission temperature)

  2. Ensure the environment in which you are using it is safe and proper according to local laws and regulations.

  3. With the vehicle at a complete stop, hold the clutch pedal (manual vehicles) or brake pedal (automatic/dual clutch vehicles).

  4. Quickly press the throttle all the way down. If it is not moved quickly the launch control limiter will not activate.

  5. Launch control should now hold the engine at a pre-set RPM range. To adjust see section below.

  6. To launch, let out the clutch/brake at an appropriate rate.

Adjustments to Launch Control

The availability of the adjustments as well as their increments will differ depending on the vehicle, as well as the tune. Consult your tuner for more information.

  1. Ensure the cruise control system is off on your vehicle.

  2. Begin the steps above and activate the launch control system, but do not launch the vehicle (making it to step 5 in the above instructions)

  3. Bump the cruise control stalk up or down to raise or lower the RPM level in preset increments.

  4. Once you’re happy with the launching RPM you can then launch the vehicle and it will remember the previously set RPM Level until the ECU is reset.

To see this method in action check out our video showing how it works on BRZ/FRS/GT86

Adjusting Launch RPM Via ECU Connect

  1. Connect to your vehicle using the ECU Connect App.

  2. Select My Car

  3. From there select the Launch Control option.

  4. From there you should have a slider that lets you make adjustments to fine tune things a bit more.

On Some vehicles the Custom Inputs option may be utilised for this function.  For an overview of adjustments using the "Custom Inputs" field check out our guide Making Adjustments / Using Custom Inputs in ECU Connect
